2. Applicable Legal Framework
We process personal data based on the following laws:

- EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), if you access our website from the EU/EEA
- German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) for German users

3. Data Collection When You Visit
Server log files
When you access our website, the following data is automatically transmitted to our hosting provider and stored in log files:
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
- Referrer URL (the previously visited page)
- Hostname of the accessing device
- Date and time of access
- IP address (truncated where technically possible)
This data is processed exclusively to ensure technical operation, troubleshoot errors, and prevent attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in error-free, secure website operation). Log data is automatically deleted after a maximum of 14 days. No merging with other data sources takes place.
SSL/TLS encryption
This site uses SSL/TLS encryption for security reasons. You can recognize this by https:// in the address bar and the lock icon in your browser. Data you transmit cannot be read by third parties.
4. Cookies and Local Storage
On this website, we exclusively use technically necessary entries in your browser's local storage — no classic tracking cookies, no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no third-party tracking.
Necessary local storage
We store the following entries in your browser:
- xmedia_lang — stores your language selection (DE or EN) so you don't have to choose again on your next visit.
- xmedia_cookie_consent — stores your choices in the cookie banner (which categories you have consented to).
These entries contain no personal data and are stored only in your browser — they are not transmitted to us or any third party. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in functionality).
Statistics and marketing (not currently active)
We do not currently use any analytics, statistics, or marketing cookies. If we add such tools in the future, they will only be activated after your explicit consent in the cookie banner. You can manage or withdraw your consent at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of this website.
5. Web Fonts
We exclusively use self-hosted fonts. All fonts (Bricolage Grotesque, Inter Tight, Instrument Serif, JetBrains Mono, UnifrakturMaguntia) are stored on our own server and loaded directly from there. No connection is made to Google Fonts, Adobe Fonts, or any other external font provider. Your IP address is therefore not transmitted to third parties for font requests.
6. Contact Form
When you use the contact form on contact.html, the following data is processed:
- Name
- Company
- Email address
- Content of your message
Service provider: Web3Forms
For transmitting form messages, we use the service Web3Forms by Bytewax Inc., USA. Web3Forms forwards your request to our email address. Important notes:
- Data is transmitted to the USA (a third country).
- Web3Forms does not permanently store form data, only forwards it.
- No cookies are set by Web3Forms.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (your consent by submitting the form) and Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures). For more information: web3forms.com/privacy-policy
Your messages are stored with us for as long as necessary to process your request, but no longer than the duration of the business relationship. Statutory retention obligations (e.g. commercial and tax law) remain unaffected.
7. Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter (form in the footer), we process the following data:
- Email address
- Date and time of subscription
Transmission also takes place via Web3Forms (see section 6). We use your email address exclusively for sending the newsletter and do not share it with third parties. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in every newsletter or by sending an informal email to info@xm-solutions.com.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (your consent). You can withdraw this consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of previous processing.
8. External Links
Our website contains links to external third-party websites (e.g. publishers, study sources, client websites). We have no influence on their content. The respective operators are solely responsible for the privacy practices of those websites. We check links at the time of linking but not on an ongoing basis.
9. No Social Media Plugins
This website uses no plugins from social networks (Facebook, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Instagram, etc.). Also no embedded YouTube, Vimeo, or similar third-party players. When we link to such platforms, this is done exclusively via simple hyperlinks without tracking.
